Man and Woman Tea Towels by depeapa

Loving these tea towels at Verónica de Arriba’s Etsy shop, Depeapa. All I want these days are black and white tea towels. (Black and white everything really.)

After seeing the photo above floating around for a few months, I finally LOOKED at it and realized how wonderful these linen duvets by Linge Particulier are. You can find them at the lovely french shop Bodie and Fou, which is run by two sweet sisters, Elodie and Karine. The duvets come in light grey, blue grey, pink and even mustard! (not shown) How wonderful and cool linen would feel in the summertime…

Last year I wrote a post about how much I liked Zooey Deschanel’s character’s bedspread on the set of her (then) new tv show New Girl was and it has been by far the most viewed post on this blog, which leads me to believe that many of you enjoy it as well! The frustrating bit is that no one could figure out where it was from! Realizing that it was probably a custom comforter made on set, I went in search for the fabric, but how easy could that be? I mean, really. There are too many fabrics in the world to ever be able to magically happen upon it in that manner.

Thanks to reader Eva, we now know! First we happened on this article from which then by way of quick Google search led me to this.

And there you have it, friends.

Bookhou is John Booth and Arounna Khounnoraj, a husband and wife design team residing in Toronto, Canada. Along with their Etsy store they also have a brick-and-mortar shop in Toronto and an online shop of their own here. They design and make items such as handbags, scarves, paper goods, ceramic items, and more inspired by the organic lines and shapes found in nature and urban landscapes. John has been trained in painting, architecture and woodworking, and Arounna started out making sculptural works before changing her focus to design and textile work. Oh, and they also have two little kiddos to raise. Their design aesthetic is that wonderful mixture of modern, urban and organic, filled with those geometric shapes we love so much these days.

How wonderful is this bedspread on the set of the New Girl? After 20 minutes of googling “zooey deschanel’s bedding on the new girl”, I still can’t figure out where it came from. Perhaps it’s just some fabric the a fancy set designer found somewhere? Well, I love it. The black background, the colorful flowers… love. It reminds me of this calendar from The House That Lars Built, which is also wonderful.

I may have said this before, but I am on the lookout for a choice ottoman/coffee table for my house. Not seriously, because the only furniture I can afford right now would be from Goodwill, but my fantasy furniture list will forever consist of one padded ottoman coffee table. Like this one from West Elm. Lovely. I love the print, although it wouldn’t go with my living room’s selection of vintage browns and greens. Here’s to you, lovely West Elm Ottoman. Cheers.
